Out of the depths I cry to you, Lord;
Lord, hear my voice.
Let your ears be attentive
to my cry for mercy.
On this Remembrance Sunday as we reflect on those who gave their lives for our freedom through WW1 and WW2 along with the many other conflicts the world has seen since and I read the news headlines that Leyte island fears the death of 10,000 of its people following a typhoon I ponder the depths that many have been in and still to this day find themselves in. Lord we need Your mercy. Let those of us who are fortuante to not live in shelled out cities and face the question of fleeing or not, who live in houses that can withstand significant weather in contrast to those whose weather is mroe risky than ours and whose homes have little chance against such weather not forget. Let us not turn a blind eye, let us not compete against each others but use the skills and resources and freedom we have to bring justice and mercy to those who really need it. Let us hear their cries and extend God’s mercy to them.
