Arise, shine, for your light has come and the glory of the Lord rises upon you…but the Lord rises upon you and his glory appears over you.
It is possible to be radiant, to be light in dark places whatever our circumstances because our light is not of our own doing but of the glory of God that rises upon us. When called to rejoice and be glad, it is possible not because I may feel joyful and happy. Infact we may find ourselves in times of pain and mourning but in those hard places there is a light that is not of our own making. It is of the Lord and His glory which others will see as we live out our lives. We do not need to conjour up happy feelings in order to share the good news to others. The light of the gospel already shines on us and as we walk through life others will see it, even if at times it is hard for ourselves to see the light of Hos glory shining on us. That is why we need to walk with others in life and be reminded when we see the light on them that the glory of the Lord is still here.
